Position Summary
This position provides administrative support to the day-to-day operations of the Internal Medicine Rapid Assessment Clinic (IMRAC) at the Charlton site. All patient related details and program activities are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation of the clinics in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital. The incumbent interacts directly with patients and their families as well as other hospital departments.
Qualifications
•Grade 12 education or equivalent with successful completion of office administration/medical diploma or comparable course/diploma required or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Minimum of 1 year of recent experience providing administrative support in a busy outpatient hospital environment
•Medical terminology certificate
•Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in PHS (Pathways Healthcare Scheduling) HBOC Patient Registration software and HBOC order entry
•Intermediate skill level is required for MS Word and Excel
•Intermediate skill level typing
•Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process
•Applicants must have demonstrated an ability to accept responsibility plan prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform effectively both independently and as a team member
•A major component of the position is the ability to function calmly and efficiently in a friendly manner completing multiple tasks and providing customer service. Effective tactful and confidential communication in person and on the telephone is essential
•Must demonstrate a professional attitude and behaviour
•Must have excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
•Must be capable of performing all related duties
•Demonstrated commitment to the values of Service Responsible Stewardship Community Responsiveness and Respect
•Good work performance and attendance record is essential
