Job Description: The Clinical Nurse Educator for PACU and Day Surgery is responsible for ensuring all work is in alignment with the organizations missions, goals, values, and strategic plans to promote high quality, safe client care. This is accomplished by assisting in establishing and maintaining best practice; assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating unit orientation, in-servicing and other educational programming; assessing learning needs; acting as a clinical resource; promoting client and family centered care; participating in committee work as assigned; participating in continuous improvement activities; developing and maintaining client and staff resources. The CNE will function as a member of the interprofessional clinical team to promote effective delivery of client care in the SHA, including regular direct communication and input from the clinical nursing manager(s).

Experience

  • 3 years recent experience in post-anesthesia care or critical care nursing

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
