Profile Description Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority through the provision of safe quality nursing care to clients. The Clinical Resource Nurse educates, mentors and supports unit staff, promotes patient safety, occupational health and safety and quality improvement on the unit.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years recent nursing experience related to the clinical program area.
  • Previous leadership experience is required.

  • Judgment to collaboratively plan, implement, & evaluate program dev. activities
  • Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
  • Works independently, effectively and cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge in principles of adult education
  • Expertise in medical nursing, technical skills, and psychosocial aspects of care
  • Ability to facilitate teamwork is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement
  • Ability to maintain composure during periods of high stress
  • Ability to foster the skills of other staff members
  • Commitment to continued learning and professional development.  
  • Demonstrates knowledge to assess and manage acute and chronically ill patients

Other Education & Training

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
  • Comparable degree in education/adult learning may be considered.
