Position Summary:
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) has recently modernized its business applications through the deployment of Workday, UKG, and Andgo as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Workforce Management (WFM) software solutions.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications and Integrations, the Applications Analyst performs a variety of duties related to the development, access, and day-to-day support of Workday, UKG, Andgo, and other applications (including mobile applications) across the St. Joseph’s Health System as needed.
The primary focus of the successful applicant will be to support the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) workstream focusing on HCM Core, Learning and Talent modules, within the role of a Workday Administrator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or recognized equivalent required
- 1 to 3 years' experience in healthcare preferred
- Experience with ERP platforms (Workday preferred)
- Experience supporting Human Capital Management (HCM), Learning Management Systems (LMS), talent management, workforce administration, or related business applications preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete and deliver work assignments on time
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of complex technical and operational concepts, principles, and practices
- Ability to build consensus by listening and understanding different points of view while proposing acceptable alternatives
- Capable of finding creative alternatives that satisfy the needs of key stakeholders
- Experience with requirements gathering, system testing, business process analysis, reporting, and end-user support preferred
Responsibilities:
- Application Configuration: Configures, maintain, and support Workday HCM and Learning modules, ensuring functionality aligns with organizational requirements, operational processes, and best practices. This also includes maintaining organization structures, worker data setup, content administration and business process definitions.
- Application Administration: Supports the operational Learning Coordinators, Learning Specialists, Digital Training Specialists, and other key users of the Workday Learning platform with oversight and the development of standardized naming conventions, loading and archiving of learning content. This role also includes supporting the standardized approach to mass actions including rescinding, canceling, waiving assignments and launching learning campaigns.
- Business Process Optimization: Collaborates with Human Resource Operations, Organizational Development, Learning and Development, Payroll Services, and other stakeholders to analyze business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and user experience
- Testing and Change Management: Participates in the planning, testing, validation, and deployment of Workday updates, enhancements, and new functionality. Develop test plans, document results, and support change management activities to ensure successful implementation
- Documentation: Creates and maintain documentation related to Workday HCM Core, Learning and Talent modules, including system configurations, business processes, functional specifications, testing outcomes, training materials, and knowledge transfer documentation. Prepare and present status reports and ad hoc reports, identify and document issues for escalation, and assist management in the interpretation of available information
- Reporting and Troubleshooting: Investigates and resolve application issues, data discrepancies, configuration concerns, and end-user inquiries. Develop reports and dashboards as required and work closely with vendors, Human Resource Operations, Payroll Services, Learning and Development teams, and Digital Solutions to resolve issues and support operational objectives
- Analysis: Provides technical and functional guidance, evaluate enhancement requests for compatibility and alignment with organizational standards, and recommend solutions that ensure applications provide reliable, effective, and sustainable service delivery
- Communication and Collaboration: Liaises with other members of the Business Applications and Integrations and Decision Support and Case Costing teams that support Workday and UKG platforms while partnering with operational teams including Human Resource Operations, Organizational Development, Payroll Services, Finance, Strategic Sourcing and Logistics, and other stakeholders to support effective utilization of the Workday platform and continuous improvement initiatives
- Training and User Support: Supports end-user adoption by assisting the Learning and Instructional Design team with training activities, providing functional guidance, developing support materials, and promoting best practices related to Workday HCM Core, Learning and Talent module functionality
Hours of work:
Monday-Friday, days. May include evenings, weekends, and on call as required. This position is primarily remote with on site requirements as needed.
